A “trippy experience” is how half-Mauritian Mo Kolours’ described the effect of growing up listening to Sega music with his father. The London-based percussionist and singer brings the music of his father’s native into the new century by mixing it with electronica and hip-hop.
Outside Mauritus, most people probably think of video games and a hedgehog on speed, instead of rhythmic slave songs from the Indian Ocean. By including the Sega rhythms of his childhood in his productions, Mo Kolours would like to change that, and we hope he will succeed.
