Train-wreck

First and foremost aesthetically pleasing, followed by furiously fast, this video-creation will not let you take a hiatus for one second, and why should it? No fuzz about the title either: Head On, by up and coming animator Lior Ben Horin, is a train-wreck in the best sense of the word just waiting to happen.

A sharp and linear locomotive motion through an animated landscape that miraculously arrives at its final destination with only a few bumps and bruises, hitting a futuristic Paris with an awesome and pimped up Triumphal arch at full speed. And it’s fresh too, as energized as a graduation film can be, this one straight out of the Bezalel Academy for Art and Design, Jerusalem, Israel (2011). There’s truly wild imagination going on here, how else do you explain the color-exploding, “wheels-keep-on-turning” ride through pink shaded plains, black voids and neon decorated urban underpasses. Relish on the light at the end of this tunnel!

Be sure to check out headonfilm.com, where Lion Ben Horin also explains how this is a homage to German expressionism, Sergei Eisenstein, Stanley Kubrick and Gaspar Noé.

And what an original tribute it is.
