Odyssey into the Surreal

French producer and musical prodigy- Débruit (aka Xavier Thomas) drops this surreal and delirious new video for “Cuivrée”off the ‘From The Horizon’ LP (released by Civil Music), and Les Cles Du Charisme draws inspiration from the renowned piece “The False Mirror” (1928) by surrealist artist René Magritte, which also adorns the cover of the album and was recently nominated for ‘Best Art Vinyl 2012’. The video, by Rainbowmonkey (aka Markus Hofko) depicts a girl’s curious odyssey towards an undiscovered trail- but was it all a dream or reality? After all, as spoken by the artist himself-“To be a surrealist means forgetting all of what you have seen, and being always on the lookout for what has never been.” -Magritte
