2012 was the year that Sweden’s rap scene blazed up a wave of rising femcees shaking up the game. MCing queens such asGnucci, Silvana Solo and Cleo deserve to brush their shoulders off for this year’s accomplishments. Sthlm-based MC Lilla Namo (aka Namo Marouf) is the latest addition to the homegirls’ entourage.
In the video for ‘Höj volymen’ (=turn the volume up) directed by Haben Solo, the ghetto-fabulous MC dares you to mess with her stereo, are you deli? (=stupid) don’t touch it.
The video captures her visit to the hair salon, followed by shots of the Namo-clique causing misdemeanor while cruisin’ the streets and dodging the cops’ surveillance. She’s currently nominated in the best Hip Hop/Soul category at the Swedish P3 Gold Awards and we’re keepin’ our fingers crossed!
