Ladies’ Turn (Trailer)

Winner of  ‘Best Feature Film Award’ and ’Feminist Favourite Audience Award’ at the London Feminist Film Festival (2012) –  Wendigo Films presents ‘Ladies’ Turn’ (2011) directed by documentary film director Hélène Harder. Unfortunately, in Senegal, and as in numerous countries in the world, soccer is generally considered a sport for men, not women. ‘Ladies’ Turn’ unfolds a gripping story addressing this female issue following a team of Senegalese women seizing their right to play soccer on their neighborhood field. The film shows their story for over a year, as they persistently battle obstacles faced by the strongly patriarchal Senegalese communities.

We strongly hope for a drastic turn for women currently battling-  not only the fields in Senegal- but fields worldwide, now is the turn.

Ladies’ Turn is a non-profit organisation that supports Senegalese women’s enthusiasm for football and organises tournaments for female teams and promotes gender equality through sport.
