In this video a group of kids from Portobelo, Panama do it all: produce the beat, write the lyrics and develop the concept for the music video with filmmaker Saleem Reshamwala (aka Kid Ethnic). Filmed during Diablos y Congos – a unique festival in Portobelo that celebrates a history of undermining enslavement though parody, play, music and dance; “Diablos,” or devils, represent white men, while “Congos” represent African and indigenous people. The video features traditional Panamanian masks, Diablo Rojo buses, folk art and ritual dance.
Beat produced and lyrics written by the youth of Portobelo, Panama. Created in a Beat Making Lab at La Escuelita del Ritmo. Inspired by festival de los Diablos y Congos.
