We would like to take the opportunity to thank you for applying for curatorship; we are happy to have such an exciting individual contributing to the content of stocktown.com. We are a community dedicated to showcasing videos of all genres, art, dance, music, short films, documentaries, you name it. Together we provide the ultimate video magazine devoted to contemporary video culture.
Just before we get started with publishing great and inspiring content, we would like to share some useful information with you.
The role of a video curator implies posting video clips regularly, documenting topics or a scene you as a curator are fired up about, regardless of whether its music videos, animation or fashion you’re a fiend for. As a video curator, all your submissions will be shared and spread through various websites, twitter, faceboook, vimeo, soundcloud, blogs and other video related websites.
As you might know, Stocktown introduces the viewer to a spot – dedicated to the global street culture and showcases videos from all over the world. Our aim is to present inspiring portrayals from around the world and highlight the extraordinary – which is why we wish to publish content covering productions from anything that is creative, inspirational and slightly special. In addition to this, material from the subcultural=alternative (i. e non-mainstream) is desirable and preferred. Our aim is also to emphasize on clips highlighting global productions, . from other continents outside of Europe/North America. The range of options are out there for you to grab, pick whatever catches your eye and what you consider suitable for Stocktown.com.
As part of the submission process, all video curators are required to check off their submission’s compliance with all of the following requirements below. All submissions must be created in original text, we do not consider previously published material.
1. Video format: Due to the enhanced picture resolution/quality, Vimeo HD is the prioritized video format. If the video of your choice is only available on Youtube, go for that format. But, please make sure to check if the same video is available on Vimeo.
2. Video Credit: Stocktown aims to give cred to the makers behind each video, (e.g the : director/production/artist/association) which is why a reference/link is a standard requirement (Homepage/Twitter/Facebook/Soundcloud/Instagram).
Please ensure that all entered links are valid and appropriate for your piece.
3. The Headline Is the key to catching the reader’s attention, try to express an interesting/catchy headline. Preferably 3-6 words (max 40 characters). In your preamble/intro always make sure to express an alluring tone)content, ne). The total blog post length is unlimited, although an estimated amount of approx. 100+ words is recommended to make your blog post concise and interesting.
4. Category/Country specification: Please make sure to specify the category of the video (art, dance, music, short film, documentary) as well as the country of origin (where the video was/is made)
Observe that all content will eventually be edited/and reviewed for approval by the editorial staff before publishing. Also, please take into consideration that Stocktown maintains an acquired queuing system; your contribution will be placed into a given order. It would be optimal if we could receive submissions from you on a monthly basis (1 -2/posts) .
When your story comes out, we will do the best to promote the story through our website and social media channels. it would be great if you’d please help us spread and share the word yourself! The more we all manage to spread out Stocktown, the more we are able to impact the culture together. We thank you for all you do, especially, for letting us publish your work!

THE FACEBOOK GROUP – ‘STOCKTOWN CREW’
As a video curator you will be connected to our online Facebook group titled Stocktown Crew, in which you will get in touch with the editorial staff.
This group is aimed to gather all people contributing to our platform (video curators, contributors…you name it). This is a spot where we stay in touch and communicate queries, questions, exchange/share ideas (e.g share swag videos, editorial topics) etc. , so please stay tuned for upcoming happenings/events/news alerts via this fresh and (slightly) updated group.
